Grow Your Business with Three Ridiculously Simple Video Strategies

Does your business have a YouTube account? Do you use it? If not, you’re missing out on a tremendously powerful marketing tool that can drive huge volumes of traffic to your website, build your brand and ultimately increase online sales. Here are three ridiculously simple strategies to use video for your business to grow your bottom line.

  • Record Everything You Write

When you write a blog post, publish a press release, or add a page to your company’s website, record a video version of the same content. It should be professional, but a $100 webcam with 720p capability should be sufficient to produce high quality content (for larger companies, I recommend a more robust, tripod mounted camera for these videos). Use a whiteboard and a featured member of your company to present your message in an entertaining, informative manner. It seems simple and it is but a video version of text content can more than double traffic over time.

  • Create How-to Content Featuring Company Leaders

Create unique how-to content that features leaders in your company. Put your VPs on video showing prospects how to perform a certain function with your product. Alternately, choose a face from within our company that will represent it in all online videos. It’s always better to use an actual employee than to hire an actor that may not seem authentic. This applies more for smaller businesses without established brands. Obviously, actors can greatly increase your bottom line if you are a big enough company and can afford big names.

  • Distribute to Multiple Channels

Don’t just upload to YouTube. Create content that can be distributed on every major video platform. Upload to Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google+ as well as other video sites like Vimeo, metacafe, Daily motion, vevo or others that take user submissions. Match the content to the sites that fit your audience and get it to as many people as possible. Yes, YouTube is biggest but it is not alone.

Video is a powerful way to present a human face for your online presence and present valuable content to your readers, subscribers, and customers. Use it wisely and you will almost certainly grow your web presence as a result. Be willing to take risks and put yourself in places you never considered before. The path to success online is paved with new strategies you’ve never considered before – take them and you will be surprised by what can happen next.
