Developing the Best Real Estate Website Outline for SEO

Yesterday afternoon I was given the opportunity to speak to the Sacramento Realtor Association’s Folsom Tour. It was a group of about 40 to 60 real estate agents, and before they went out to tour some of the homes in Folsom that have been put on the market, I spoke with them about the benefits of blogging and the importance of marketing a website.

One of the issues I noticed was that very few real estate agent develop a content rich, SEO friendly site. So today, I want to quickly provide an outline that I would recommend to any real estate agent looking to improve their online presence. While this specific outline is for Sacramento, you could use the same basic strategies in New York, Seattle, Texas – anywhere. Not that each line is its own page on your website, and the dashes indicate how these pages should be set up on a menu. Apologies in advance for the ugly formatting, but the internet struggles with indented bullets.

– Home Page

– Information for Buyers

— Homes for Sale

— Sacramento Homes for Sale

— Folsom Homes for Sale

— Roseville Homes for Sale

— (etc.)

— Sacramento Mortgage Loans

— Buyer Tips

– Information for Sellers

— Sell Your Home

— Locations (just like the homes for sale pages above)

— Seller Tips

– Property Management

— Locations

– Sacramento Rentals

– Blog

– Contact

Now, this list isn’t comprehensive. You can also add valuable information, like data on neighborhoods, advice on how to sell or buy effectively, etc. You also have a blog, and on the blog you can write about nearly every single topic imaginable as it relates to buying and selling homes. The list above is simply designed to help you get an idea about what a real estate SEO outline would look like. Each line represents its own keyword targeted page, and over time as you continue to build your site, you’ll start to see your website showing up for many of these searches.

Optimizing for search engine’s isn’t the future of real estate marketing – it’s the present. Investing in your website and building your online presence is crucial. Contact us today to learn more.
