Case Study: Locksmith Content Rewriting

The Client:

Great Leap Studios was contacted by a locksmith company. The company was a franchisee, part of a national locksmith franchise that gave each company their own website, complete with copy and pasted content. The duplicate content did not show up in search, and owner was looking for a partner that could help them rewrite the content in an SEO friendly way. Due to our experience with locksmith content writing, they elected to use Great Leap Studios.

The Problems:

There were two challenges to completing this work. The first was that the locksmith served two distinct states, but had only one major city that would likely account for over 75% of their calls. Integrating two states into the writing while focusing on one city more would cause linguistic challenges. In addition, the duplicate content on the site did not contain much information, and so ample research would need to be completed to ensure accurate writing.

The client also did not show up on the first 10 pages of Google, which meant that their website had a long way to go before it would start generating them leads.

The Solutions:

Rather than rewriting the current content, we looked at each content as its own, new page. This allowed us to avoid limiting ourselves to the on-site content’s information. We also focused almost exclusively on the main city in the body of the content, but would integrate the other cities/states into the intro or conclusion.

We also created individual location pages, which allowed us to target almost 30 cities.

There were over 52 pages, and they were completed in only two weeks time – well in advance of their due date.

The Results

The company’s search engine presence improved dramatically. Within 3 weeks, they were on page 1 for all long tail search terms, and were first in most search results. For their primary, competitive keyword, they were on page 3 in Google within 3 weeks, page 2 in Google after two months, and flirted with page one on occasion with no other marketing. The client was highly satisfied with the work we provided, and recommended us to all 70+ franchisees.
